Kleckowski To Challenge Lesser For State Legislature Seat

Councilwoman Deb Kleckowski has decided to run for election to the 100th District in the State Legislature, a seat held since 2009 by Matt Lesser.  The Republican nominating convention was the town committee last night, no other candidates put their name forward.

Kleckowski served as a Democrat on Planning and Zoning, and after a series of disagreements with the Democratic Town Committee switched her affiliation to Republican. She is in her second term on the City Council.

  2. Aptly named web site. This is the problem with Middletown; too many "insiders".

  3. At least the insider has a story on both candidates running for State rep. I understand that the Middletown Eye can't be everywhere and at every meeting, but I will bet you bottom dollar they will have someone covering the democrat town convention this upcoming Thursday.

    Congratulations to Deb and Callie.

  4. Anonymous at 10:05 can guarantee winning the bottom dollar bet simply by going to the Dem's town convention tonight, and submitting a report to The Eye. We look forward to it.

  6. Who in their right mind would vote for Kleckowski after her comments at the last council meeting that our city tax bill is our minimum obligation to the city and if we want the Bd of Ed to have a bigger budget we should open our wallets and write checks to the city treasurer and earmark it for the Bd of Ed...SCARY!!

  9. I will vote for Kleckowski because of her comments and being the first to stand up and call for the firing of Frechette! The BOE lost a million dollars and Drew didn't even care! Why should the BOE be funded any mor? You cannot love issues by simply throwing money at them! Yes you can to throw more at the BOE to mis spend then you be the first to donate! This councilwomns comments were stellar!
