The Common Council celebrated the accomplished high school wrestling career of Devon Carillo last night, passing a resolution commending him for his "determination and athleticism" and for "achieving academic excellence". According to a profile in the Middletown Press, Carillo will next year attend the college prep school Phillips Exeter Academy, to boost his athletic and academic record before choosing a college.
As Councilman Phil Pessina lauded Carillo, his family listened raptly, some with tears of pride and joy.
