Four ways to see eagles

Beginning February 3, you can get an up-close look at the Bald Eagle during a 1.5-hour tour aboard Project Oceanology's Enviro-lab III every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through March 11.

On Saturdays through March 3, search for eagles by land along the Connecticut River with The Audubon Shop, followed by soup and sandwiches at Oliver's Tavern in Essex.

From February 11 to March 18, Connecticut Audubon Society EcoTravel will sponsor boat tours in search of Bald Eagles along the Connecticut River. Naturalists aboard the vessel will talk about eagle ecology and assist with identification of eagles and other birds.

On February 18 and 19, Essex Steam Train will send its annual Eagle Flyer out on an eco-excursion to search for Bald Eagles. Passengers will learn about their migration from a naturalist on board.
