East Main Street Drug Bust

On January 27, 2012 the Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Patrol Division executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 71 East Main St. Second Floor Rear. The Search and Seizure Warrant was to include the person of Zachary Thomas age 23, the residence, and two vehicles a 1998 Jeep Cherokee registered Paulette Thomas of 71 East Main St. and a 2008 Dodge Charger registered to Tashiemia Dempsey of 1 Russell St Apt.#11.



We had received numerous complaints concerning this address from concerned citizens that reside in the area. Detectives determined that Thomas (A CONVICTED FELON) and his mother Paulette Thomas were the occupants of the residence.

Detectives were able to identify Thomas, the target of this investigation, as he exited his residence at 71 East Main St. and walked north on East Main St. After walking a few hundred yards, Thomas got into a waiting vehicle (2004 Toyota Four Runner registered to Jennifer Tresselt age 37 of 154 Tryon St, Middletown, CT) up the street from his residence. Detectives followed the vehicle into the Metro Square parking lot. Thomas was observed exiting the vehicle. Detectives exited their vehicle identifying themselves as police officers. Thomas refused detectives commands to stop. Thomas placed a cellophane bag containing crack cocaine into his mouth in an attempt to swallow it while moving away from detectives. Detectives were able to subdue Thomas after a struggle, but were unable to recover the crack cocaine.
The operator of the vehicle, Jennifer Tresselt, attempted to pull away as detectives approached Thomas and her vehicle. The vehicle was also stopped by detectives. The operator of the vehicle, Tresselt, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine smoking pipes and empty cellophane bags containing crack cocaine residue. The passenger, Sarah Tresselt age 34 of Cromwell, was found to be in possession of a crack cocaine smoking pipe as well.

Detectives then proceeded to the residence of Thomas at 71 East Main St.

Upon executing the search warrant at the residence detectives located a 9mm handgun with two fully loaded magazines next to it. Narcotic canine Rika also located 4.0 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale. Detectives located two functioning narcotic scales and a large amount of plastic packaging materials.

Thomas also had an unrelated outstanding Middletown Police warrant for the charges of Illegal Use of a Credit Card and Fraudulent Use of an ATM with a court set bond of $10,000.00.

Zachary Thomas was subsequently arrested for the following charges and held on a $275,00.00 Bond.

Possession of Crack Cocaine With Intent to Sell
Possession of Crack Cocaine With Intent to Sell within 1500’ of a Day Care
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Criminal Possession of a Firearm
Interfering with a Search Warrant
Destruction of Evidence

Jennifer Tresselt was subsequently arrested for the following charges and released on a $5,000.00 Non-Surety Bond.

Sarah Tresselt was subsequently arrested for the following charges and released on a $5,000.00 Non-Surety Bond.
