The final tabulation of votes for the Council leaves 14 votes separating Republicans Kleckowski from Bauer for the final Council seat. State law requires a recount if the vote difference is fewer than 20, thus there will be a recount of all the ballots for Common Council.
Town Clerk Russo Driska said recounts can change the outcome of very tight races, but are unlikely to change the overall result that 8 of the Council will be Democrat, and 4 Republican.
