Health Department Gives Grant To Group Helping Multiple Sclerosis Patients

The City Health Department has awarded a $1,500 grant to Middlesex Area Patient Services, Inc. (MAPS) to support the Swim Program. MAPS would like to publicly thank the City of Middletown and its Health Department with their efforts to support this program.

One of the highlights of MAPS during the last few years has been the aquatic exercise program implemented at the local YMCA, which has since been moved to the New England Athletic Club in Cromwell. MAPS pays for the pool usage and provides instruction so its members can avail themselves of aquatic exercise.

Middlesex Area Patient Services, Inc. (MAPS) is a local organization established through the efforts of Father Raymond Introvine in 1971. MAPS is a local group dedicated to serving the people in the Middlesex Area afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis by providing financial assistance and social activities. Every dollar raised through its efforts is used to assist MS patients.
