A Night at The Buttonwood Tree

What's it like to go to this nearly hidden, corner space in the former Arriwani hotel, in the North End, where all those people hang out? It's often a pleasant surprise! Delicious smells of Slambovian coffee fills the air, folks chat, experiences shared. Art is everywhere, books wait to be bought, musicians tune their tools and bare their souls to bring harmony to this space that has long held music in her air.

Tonight's show featuring Dan Arcamone and his jazz quartet was skillfully performed and thoroughly enjoyed by all. In the audience tonight were other musicians who appreciated the subtleties of the compositions and most of them purchased both cds that Arcamone offered. As usual, a handful of people came for the first time, and delighted in discovering our venue.

TBT has a lot more talent scheduled for the rest of the month. Try: tonight's Boxcar Lilies - with soulful songwriting and sweet, passionate harmonies.

Or: Sept 23: Emile de Leone and Froc Filipetti in a world-premier of the Tibetian Singing Bowls, with Native American flute, guitar and drums. Both at 8pm. Save with advance purchase for 9/23! Make a reservation online at buttonwood.org or send a check to NEAR, Inc. (PO Box 71, Middletown, CT 06457)

We are still open afternoons between 12pm and 4pm (Mon - Fri), 10am - 1pm (Sat), and for all events.
