City Releases Afterschool Program Matching Grants for 2011-12

The Middletown Youth Services Bureau Advisory Board through the City's Youth Services Bureau (YSB) has released the application for the 2011-12 Educational Incentives Challenge Grant.

This Request For Proposals (RFP) is to solicit program activities from community agencies and organizations that support the goals of the Educational Incentive Challenge Grant (EICG), as well as enhance educational opportunities directly or indirectly. This grant is looking to fund program activities for children in Grades K-12 that help support at-risk, under-represented students who traditionally are not involved in programming outside the regular school day. These activities may be of academic, recreational, cultural, physical, psychological, and/or emotional benefit to the child.

The RFP document includes all guidelines, timelines, and directions for the narrative that will assist in the development of a proposal and can be found on the YSB website, www.middletownyouthservices.org or one may follow this link to go directly to the YSB's EICG page.

There will be a non-mandatory bidder's conference held on Wednesday, July 13st at 10am in the Middletown Board of Education's Conference Room A (please RSVP at carbonellaj@mpsct.org). The deadline for submission is August 10th at 10am.

  1. As a taxpayer and a voter what have I seen with the BOE...
    1) Caught wasting tax dollars on mileage for high paid administrators
    2) School Resource Officers shoved out of school because they enforced the law
    3) Bullying at an all time high
    4) Violations of union contracts
    5) Crying "for the children" gets 2 million more and gives themselves a 3% pay increase
    6) Business Manager with a poor track record in other communities
    7) Bought Datco a magic super efficient bus- with tax payer money
    8) An admin in central off who is allegedly slap happy

Gee... the truth hurts doesn't it? Thank god we have a Mayor who won't be bullied by these thugs who hide behind what is in the childrens best interests. Get rid of them all- Thank goodness the City gave this money to the afterschool program
