Wednesday at First Church, Avinoam Nehmad and Robyne Diller present a slide show and talk, "Life in Israel Today." Their presentation offers a good look at the Holy Land and interweaves contemporary realities with stories from the Bible and from the history of Israel.
Avi, a veteran Israeli, and Robyne, a recent immigrant from Connecticut, are partners in Avitours, Lld., a tour company that arranges travel in Israel and the surrounding area. Avitours provided a wonderful travel experience for members of First Church and Congregation Adath Israel who visited the Holy Land as part of an interfaith dialog in 2006.
The presentation starts at 7 p.m. Free street parking is available after 6 p.m. on Court Street and throughout downtown Middletown. All are welcome. For more information, call 860-346-6657, ext. 13.
