Council Reviews 466 Contract

The Common Council is currently working on reviewing the new union contract for 466 workers, negotiated between the city and the union by Mayor Sebastian Giuliano and his staff.  The city has negotiated changes in the contract including a new limit on accumulated vacation time.  Currently there is no limit on how much vacation time is accumulated.  The new limit will be eight weeks.

The contract also calls for the forfeiture of pension and medical benefits by any municipal employee who commits a crime against the municipality.  Accumulated sick time will also not be paid out to a deceased employee's estate.

A new medical plan is also proposed with new hires being covered under Federal Plan F, and an increase of lifetime coverage for employees, but a removal of lifetime coverage for spouse and dependents.

The entire contract being reviewed by the Common Council is here.  The Council will need to vote on the contract before it is approved.

  1. How do we access the contract? When I click the link "here" it brings me to "keepand share". Is it necessary to open an account there? If yes, what is the key to sharing the document?

I set up a "Keep and share" account but it still won't let me access the document.
