Professor Donna B. Leonowich Appointed Interim Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Middlesex Community College


Middletown, CT - Middlesex Community College (Mxcc) is pleased to announce that Professor Donna B. Leonowich has been appointed on January 24, 2011 Interim Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs.

Donna Leonowich came to the College as an adjunct in 1974, becoming a full-time professor in 1983. She has chaired the Business Division since 1999 and also the Mathematics Division on an interim basis from 2002-2006, and since 2009.

"I am delighted to assume the responsibilities of the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs on an interim basis. I look forward to continuing my work with the faculty and staff and I look forward to working more closely with students on a one-to-one basis. I encourage faculty, staff and students to see me with new initiatives, concerns or suggestions as to how we can continue to move Middlesex Community College forward," said Leonowich.

Before coming to Middlesex Community College, Leonowich was a Teacher Coordinator at Hamden High School for six years and Platt High School in Meriden for six years.

"I am pleased to welcome Dean Leonowich in her new role and as a new member to the ranks of the interims. I am confident that she will play a major role as the College moves forward," said Dr. Jonathan M. Daube, interim president.

Leonowich received both her bachelor's in Marketing and Distributive Education and a master's in Technical and Vocational Education from Central Connecticut State University. In addition, she has taken courses in Leadership and Management through St. Joseph College. Leonowich was a two-year summer participant in "Marketing the Disney Way" at Disney University in Orlando Florida. Leonowich lives in Cheshire with Paul, her husband of 22 yrs. Their son, Noah, is a third year Accounting Major at Fordham University.
