Members of the MMPA (Middletown Managers and Professionals Association) have voted seek affiliation with the Teamsters.
In the voting, 39 members voted for Teamster affiliation, 10 voted to remain unaffiliated, 1 voted for no union affiliation. The vote was conducted by the State of Connecticut Labor Relations Board.
In December the MMPA voted to disassociate with the AFT (American Federation of Teachers), after a dispute between AFT President Sharon Palmer and MMPA President John Milardo.
The affiliation with the Teamsters will be certified by the state Labor Board within a few weeks of the vote.
How is this even remotely newsworthy?
