Local Cub Scout Pack 43 is having their semi-annual bottle drive at the Third Congregational Church on Miner Street (just west of the Westfield Fire Dept) of East Street in Middletown on Saturday January 8th. The event runs from 9am to 12pm. Proceeds from the bottle drive will help the Cub Scouts pay for their spring High Adventure trip. Scouts will unload your cans and bottles from your vehicle.
Pack 43 celebrates it’s 50th year of serving the Westfield section of Middletown, boys from 1st through 5th grades. Anyone interested in learning more about Pack 43 can go to their website http://www.pack43ct.org/ or contact Cubmaster Jeff Clark at (860) 344-5460.
What is Pack 43's policy on homophobia? Do they allow all boys and leaders to participate, regardless of sexual preference, or do they follow the exclusionary practices of the national boy scouts program?
ReplyDeleteA lot of us would like to support healthy activities for local youth, but find homophobia unhealthy and unacceptable.
This is the Cub Scout's NOT the Boy Scout's (you know little kids). Even so I have been involved in scouting since I was a child and now my own sons are and I have never ever ever heard of any homophobic incidents. It is an extremely respectable organization. Please support them.
