Individuals, organizations and churches donated food, and funds to pay for supermarket gift cards distributed Tuesday by the Salvation Army to families in need.
And the line was long at 10 a.m. as those who had signed up for a black plastic bag full of holiday presents, snaked into the Salvation Army headquarters on Main Street.
An annual event, this year the Salvation distributed gifts and food to 240 families.
