From the Middletown Police Department
On Saturday, December 10, 2010 at approximately 9:00PM, there was a major power outage along South Main Street between the Route 9 connector and Randolph Road. The outage was extended from the South Main and Randolph intersection eastbound to Saybrook Road. A blown transformer was the cause of the power outage. The South District Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish a small fire at the base of the phone pole. The Connecticut Light and Power Company responded and estimated that the repair time to restore power would be approximately one to two hours. Emergency Management personnel assisted by providing additional lighting at selected intersections as the area was in complete darkness and Middletown Public Works placed portable stop signs along South Main Street until power was restored. At approximately 11:00PM power was restored without further incident.
It's good to live in a city where small fires can be distinguished
ReplyDeleteNot only can they be distinguished, they can be distinguished, the night before they occur!
ReplyDelete(reread the date at the beginning of the statement)
A diminutive stature does not mean that a fire can not be distinguished!
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting the electricity on so fast! The residents who were effected by this event thank S. Fire, Emergency Managment and any other agencies involved for their quick response.
