A Blank Page

A weak sun pierced the clouds early this morning as the blizzard which paralyzed the state began to blow its last blasts of wind and snow.  Few vehicles traversed the roadways, which thanks to all-night plowing were clear, and according to some Middletown police officers on breakfast break at Ford News, it meant that there have been very few accidents reported in town overnight.  In addition, all state workers are on a mandatory furlough day today, and all city worker, except for essential emergency workers, have the day off because of the weather.

At Klekolo World Coffee Fred Carroll, one of two brave souls in the cafe, pointed out his latest editorial cartoon, a reflection on the holiday and on the weather.

  1. I don't get paid if I don't go to work. If there are non-essential city workers, have them stay home for good, unless letting them stay home works like the 4-2 police experiment.
