STREET CRIME UNIT
The Middletown Police Department’s Narcotics Unit Continue their Warrant Sweep in order to combat the quality of life issues in Middletown, specifically in the North End of the city where the sale of narcotics has severely diminished the quality of life for the Middletown citizens in that area.
Detectives focused their efforts on suspects whose warrants included illegal sale possession of narcotics, controlled substances and other related organized criminal activity.
On November 15, 2010 two more narcotic traffickers were taken into custody. The Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the patrol division took Isaiah Watford age 20 of no certain address into custody while on Main St. in Middletown.
Watford had two outstanding narcotic related warrants and was held on a combined $400,000.00 bond.
The first warrant consisted of the following charges as the sale took place at the rear fence of Saint Johns School:
•Possession of Crack Cocaine Sale of Crack Cocaine
•Possession of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
•Sale of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
•Conspiracy to Sell Crack Cocaine
Watford was held on a $200,000.00 bond for this warrant
Watford’s second warrant consisted of the following charges:
•Possession of Crack Cocaine
•Sale of Crack Cocaine
•Possession of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
•Sale of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
Watford was held on a $200,000.00 bond for this warrant
The Street Crime Unit later took Shaun Duhaney age 28 of Bloomfield, CT into custody after a brief struggle at his residence in Bloomfield. Duhaney had an outstanding narcotic related warrant for the following charges:
•Possession of Crack Cocaine
•Sale of Crack Cocaine
•Possession of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
•Sale of Crack Cocaine within 1500’ of a School Zone
Duhaney was held on a $200,000.00 bond for this warrant
As Duhaney was taken into custody he was found to be in possession of 1.2 grams of crack cocaine broken up into four pieces all packaged for sale. Another arrest warrant for Duhaney will be forthcoming.
