Police Need Volunteers for Blood Drive in September

From the Middletown Police Department

The Middletown Police Department with the American Red Cross will again be sponsoring a blood drive in honor of Sgt. George Ross Dingwall.  The blood drive will take place at the Middletown Police Department in the Community room on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 7:30am-Noon.

In order for us to hold the date with the American Red Cross we need to have 40 people signed up to donate blood by July 31, 2010.  Do to their shortage of staff and funds, if we do not have 40 people signed up they will cancel the event.  Last time we held the blood drive we had a lot of walk-in donors, but we need people to set up an appointment.

You can call The Chief’s Secretary Rosa Perichi  at 860-344-3277 to make an appointment for the blood drive or you can e-mail her at RPerichi@MiddletownCTpolice.com.
The American Red Cross has told us that right now they have a shortage of A negative and B negative blood, so if that is your blood type we are especially hoping that you can join us on September 3, 2010.
