Don't Miss the Market!

The North End Farmer Market will run today, Friday from 10-2 in front of It's Only Natural Market. We'll have the same great lineup of farms and breads (O'Rourkes Diner) but this week's guest vendor will be selling handmade hoola hoops. If you've never wiggled with a really good hoop around your waist, come down and try one out. It's really fun.

This week's guest restaurant will be Patty Palace with drinks by Javapalooza.

Patty Palace will be selling fresh Jamaican Beef Patties and other specialties...to be announced!

Guest Vendor July 9:

Crystal Pistritto's Handmade Hoola Hoops

  1. How about moving it from Friday to Saturday morning so that those of us who work for a living can take advantage of it?

  2. We understand that Friday isn't the best day of the week for those who work. But, it was really the only day that a start-up market can attract quality vendors. Most vendors already have their weekends booked and won't come to a new market on a Saturday or Sunday.

We do have a lot of people coming by on their lunch break, though, and we've lined up a restaurant every week so that people can come by for lunch as well.

We're considering offering a community supported market, where you could buy a share for the season (or the month) and pick it up at a time that is more convenient for you. Please email us if you're interested at neat@neatmiddletown.org.

For those of you who have the summer off, or can come by on your lunch break, do! The better this market is, the more chance we could have of moving it to a weekend or adding a weekend day for those people who can't make it on a Friday! So, to Anonymous 8:30, send your friends...

  3. There are many people "who work for a living" who may be available on a Friday morning but work on a Saturday. The implication that the people who can come to the market on a Friday don't "work for a living" isn't very nice.

  4. I work for a living in Middletown and can walk to the market from my office. I consider myself lucky in that respect, and understand why those who aren't able to go are disappointed. Izzi has done a great job attracting new vendors and making the market so much more vibrant and enticing. It's a great first step, and unfortunately, there's never going to be a perfect time for everyone. If it's hard to get vendors to come on the weekend, maybe a good alternative would be to have it later in the day, say from 2-6pm?
