Friday night Macdonough School hosted an ice cream social and book fair at the school to introduce incoming students and families to current students, families and teachers.
Classrooms were open, and teachers present to show students their new home in the fall.
Students were given wristbands to identify their class level next year, and a scavenger hunt to complete after their bowls of ice cream.
The book fair raised more than $400.
The evening ended with a playscape crowded with happy and sated children.
