Elizabeth Anderson-Krengel will host an information session at the Russel Library, 123 Broad St., on Monday, June 7th from 7:00-8:15 PM.
She will be representing the Hartford/Ocotal Sister City Project, which is an organization that provides (with the help of FUNAFAM) micro-loans to extremely poor women in Nicaragua. They allow them to get started with their own businesses, in order to gain financial independence. Anderson-Krengel's goal is to educate the community about the struggles women face in the capital, Ocotal, and give them information on how citizens, of all ages, can get involved.
The presenters will be Anderson-Krengel, and the Project's chair, Kathleen Anderson and her husband Sherwood Anderson and some other members of the group.
