From inside a canoe, local writer and river historian Erik Hesselberg, gave twenty-five kayakers and canoeists a look at Middletown wharfside history with a river view.
The event, sponsored by the Jonah Center, and part of Connecticut Trail Days, was lead by Beth Emery, who made sure that the paddlers also got a glimpse into the natural history of the river.
The group left from Harbor Park at 9:30 AM and returned just past noon.
