Fire in Keigwin Locker Room

On Monday, May 10, 2010 at approximately 2:04 pm the Middletown Police Department received a call for a fire at 99 Spruce Street,  Keigwin Middle School   The fire alarm was activated and the students and faculty were evacuated from the school.  All the students were accounted for and then brought to Middletown High School where they were dismissed from school.  No students were injured.

A teacher was treated on scene for possible injuries.

It was determined that the fire started in one of the lockers on the second floor of the school.  The incident will be investigated by the Middletown Police Department Special Investigations Unit in conjunction with the Middletown Fire Department.

The Hartford Courant is reporting that the fire was intentionally set.
