Bensenhaver Recognized for Academic Work by Legislature

(Rep. Matt Lesser and John Bensenhaver)

Middletown’s John H. Bensenhaver was honored by the Connecticut General Assembly during College Academic Day at the state capitol for his outstanding academic achievement. John, a history major who attends Charter Oak State College, was one of only 42 Connecticut college students recognized at the ceremony in Hartford.
“John put himself through college over many years while working full time. We're all proud of his accomplishments, but I'm particularly proud to count him as a neighbor,” said State Re Representative Matt Lesser, who represents Durham, Middlefield, and Middletown at the state legislature.
Each year, state lawmakers honor outstanding students from each of Connecticut’s public and private colleges and universities. The students are selected by their respective schools, based on academic achievement and extra-curricular involvement. The students received an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly and were formally introduced during session to the Connecticut State Senate and House of Representatives and were honored at a state capitol reception.
