Vaughn Named Assistant Governor in Rotary

From the Middletown Rotary

On Tuesday November 3 at First & Last Restaurant, District Governor Colin Gershon of Rotary International (RI) District 7980, which comprises of 60 local Rotary clubs in southern Connecticut , appointed Ken Vaughan from the Middletown Rotary Club as Assistant Governor for Area 9. Vaughan will replace Mukund Nori to complete his three year term since Nori has taken a job promotion and will be moving to California . Area 9 includes the towns of Middletown, Wallingford, Meriden and Cheshire.

Vaughan is the recent Past-President of the Middletown Rotary Club, has been active with the Amber Alert Project in the community, and serves as the Group Study Exchange (GSE) Representative for Area 9 of RI District 7980. Amber Alert provides free identification of children to assist in their safe return should they go missing as part of a state and national network to increase the likelihood that children will be recovered swiftly and safely. The GSE program involves both an inbound and outbound exchange program sponsored by Rotary.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Governor include supporting the District Governor, chairing district committees, and providing guidance to club leadership. “I am looking forward to understanding how we connect our international programs and resources to better our ability to serve our local communities," said Vaughan.
