College Soccer Championship at Wesleyan

Wesleyan is hosting the 2009 Men's Soccer Championship at Jackson Field on Wyllys Avenue this weekend. The Wesleyan team is undefeated (11-0-4) and seeded first in this New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament. Wesleyan has been a defensive powerhouse, giving up only 5 goals in the 15 games so far. In the Semi-finals on Saturday they will face a hot Middlebury College team (9-4-2), which beat previously top-seeded Williams last Friday.

It couldn't come at a better time for the Cardinals, there should be a big partisan crowd on campus to cheer them on, as Alums and Parents enjoy Homecoming/Parents Weekend.

The other semi-final game will feature 2nd-seeded Williams (12-2-1) facing off against 4th-seeded Bowdoin (11-3-1).

The winners of those two games will play for the championship on Sunday.

Semifinals Saturday:
Wesleyan vs. Middlebury: 11:00 AM
Bowdoin vs. Williams: 1:30 PM

Championship Sunday:
Semifinal Winners: 12:00 PM
All games at field on Wyllys Avenue. I would strongly advise walking or bicycling to the game, the campus will be very crowded.
