Wesleyan's Van Vleck Observatory will be hosting a special public event from 8-10 PM on Saturday, November 21st. This event is part of celebrations of the International Year of Astronomy, which commemorates the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first telescopic study of the sky.
Visitors will be able to look through Wesleyan's telescopes, and learn about Galileo's discoveries, extrasolar planets (some of which have been studied at Wesleyan), stargazing tips for families, and more.
This free event is open to people of all ages and will be held clouds or clear.
More information and parking instructions, or call Roy Kilgard at 860-685-3664.
