In an earlier post ("Celebrate a Visionary & Other Events"), I made mention that the Oddfellows Playhouse TeenRepCo production of "The American Clock" had its final 2 performances Friday and Saturday of this week (5/08-09.) That's not changed but Saturday's show has an added attraction. There will be a silent auction to benefit the OP Scholarship Fund with prizes that include a "Summer Stay-cation" Basket, "Victory Garden" Basket, Kid-City Basket, Financial Planning with Lifestyle Financial Strategies, LLC and Laser Tag passes. For more information and to make reservations to see the ensemble's fine reading of the Arthur Miller play, call 347-6143.
As of this posting, there is no information about this weekend's dance events taking place on the Wesleyan campus, those being the culminating performances in the "Feet to the Fire" series. "Threshold Sites" is "a series of works that look at the ways in which choreographic processes can explore and address the social and cultural issues that contribute to lack of ecological awareness." The 2 performances were scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Bessie Schonberg Dance Studio on Pine Street. At 8 p.m. on Saturday, an event in Fayerwether Beckham Hall on Wyllys Avenue is supposed to include "excerpts from commissioned works by students and faculty, final projects by students enrolled in Barry Chernoff's course in Guyana and video of activities that took place over the course of the eighteen-month project will be showcased in this culminating celebration." Kristen Olson in the University Box Office told me that the decision is supposed to be made by 3 p.m. today (Friday) and your best bet is to either call 685-3355 or go to www.wesleyan.edu/cfa.
