The hottest ticket in NYC comes to Middletown, and most of you are not invited
If you're old enough to think that a "concert" means a bunch of musicians playing instruments on stage, then you probably won' t appreciate that one of the country's most popular "musicians" comes armed with laptop and touch screen, and an energetic exuberance, but that the performance is that of a DJ, who has created "songs" from borrowed sources.
Here's how Girl Talk (Gregg Gillis) creates a mash-up.
At any rate, Girl Talk, which regularly plays sold out shows in and around Manhattan, is playing a show Saturday night beginning at 11:30 pm at Bacon Field House, in the Freeman Athletic Center for WESLEYAN STUDENTS ONLY (that means with ID). When tickets went on sale, they sold out almost immediately, and are still in such high demand that a ticket exchange has been set up on the Wesleying student website.
So while most of us oldsters are sleeping, one of the hippest acts in the country will be playing an end-of-semester gig for some of the hippest students in the land.
Who said Middletown isn't uber.
