Farmers Market Tuesday and Thursday through October

(Beverly, who declined to give her last name, picks peppers at the Gotta's Farm stand)

The apples looked crisp, and the late-season harvest (frost is predicted for tonight!) of peppers, tomatoes and a variety of squash looked appealing this morning at the Middletown Farmers' Market on Union Green at the South end of Main Street.

Vendors this morning included Gotta's Farm and Killam and Bassette of South Glastonbury, and Linda's Sweet Memories Bakery of Portland (pies and pastries).

The farmers market takes place each Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Union Green (South Green, South Park) at the cul-de-sac on Old Church Street.

  1. Don't know if they are still available, but last Thursday at the market I got the best fresh broccoli and leeks, a huge head of sweet cabbage, and beautiful green beans. The prices were great and so were my dinners all weekend.
