Fall Foliage and River Clean Up Paddle

Saturday, October 11, 10 a.m. leaving from Harbor Park

Naturalist Kate Miller will offer short talks on river bank and marsh ecology teacher as we paddle upriver, stop at Wilcox Island, and continue up the Mattabesset River into the Floating Meadows. As part of the “source to sea clean-up” we will pick up plastic bottles and other debris, stow it in our boats, and bring it back to our starting point. The paddle will last approximately 3 hours, with 2 places to stop and stretch. Bring your lunch or a snack. Email John at Hall.john.c@sbcglobal.net if you want to be notified in case of weather-related cancellation. Early October is an especially beautiful time to see the wild rice and birds that inhabit the “meadows”
