If you love a treasure hunt at a flea market, try shopping at the HomeCare Connection Store and Warehouse at 80 East Main St. (between Ct. Rental and the Post Office.) Ed Margnelli has, with his wife, long run the Adult Day Care Center on Miner Street and a home health care service. They have again expanded their business, offering estate buy outs (furniture, dishes, pots & pans, lamps etc. ) for sale in the beautifully restored building that used to house Kronenberger & Son's Restoration.
The HomeCare Connection store has not been there long and they are still in the process of sorting out their wares. The chaos makes the hunt even more fun. Today I was there shopping with a friend and she found a piece of furniture for her front hall for $15. It needs a new coat of paint, but the piece is unusual and it will be perfect for her, with just a little work. My hunt came up with a small treasure --- an old photo of a parade on Main Street Middletown--- looks like it was taken in the 60's and I paid one dollar for it.
Mr. Margnelli also has a donation and loan service program for medical equipment. If you know someone who needs the loan of a walker, wheel chair, commode, shower bench or other durable medical equipment, have them call the HomeCare Connection. He'll also loan out other household items to those in need.
The HomeCare Connection Store is open Monday - Friday 9:00 - 3:00 (or when the flag is out).
P.S. They also deliver.
Let's see a digital photo of that old parade picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post. This is a good use of this wonderful building. I always wondered what "Homecare Connection" was. I dropped in last Friday and found a few nice things. They have lots of furniture, housewares, etc. Also, I learned they are usually open on Saturday mornings as well.
