ALEC CHAMBERS

Based out of Shelton, CT, Alec Chambers is a young, multi-talented acoustic/pop performer ready to throw himself into his music career.
Born in a small town in Connecticut, Alec Chambers began displaying his musical prowess at a very young age. When he was just 12 years old, Alec used YouTube to teach himself guitar, and soon discovered his ability to understand chord charts and play his favorite songs by ear. Now, Alec is an immensely talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who writes his own music and lyrics. In addition to the Merks, Alec Chambers will be accompanied by John FitzGerald on bass.
THE MERKS

An alternative music group formed in East Hampton Connecticut by members Conor Philips, Jason Baker, Nick Claps, and Ian Schrager.  Their influences vary from Dean Martin to Lou Reed, to Frank Zappa, to Aerosmith, The Voidz, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Pete Doherty

Doug White Quintet
April 4 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm | $10

Doug wrote And Still We Meet” for the soundtrack of the independent film, American Seagull, directed by Michael Guinzburg. Like so much film music that you’ve never heard, this one ended up on the “cutting room floor.” We are pleased to present it for you here.

“Esplanade ‘99” was recorded in 1999 and appears on the Juniper Records CD, “The World of Doug White”.

“Everybody Has Somebody Else But Me” is the only tune I’ve ever written having been inspired by a dream. It’s a Latin style song with a Rock feeling in the bridge.

“Slinky” is a bright line based on the changes of the old 1920’s jazz favorite, “Blue Lou”.

“The Crowd” was inspired by a famous silent film entitled, “The Crowd”, directed by King Vidor, about the trials and tribulations of a young man in the 1920’s.

All of these selections, other than Esplanade ‘99, have not been released on CD and for the time being are only available on Doug White Jazz.com
