The old felspar plant that sat on this same site, had it's share of gruesome fatalities.
Clean it up and leave it alone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6844475919675784308.post-8791005631869872222010-02-07T17:50:23.909-05:002010-02-07T17:50:23.909-05:00First the developers destroyed a wooded bluff abov...First the developers destroyed a wooded bluff above the river to make a buck. Now we have further damage and destruction, human lives lost. Were the arrogance, selfishness, and willful ignorance involved in the siting of the plant also involved in causing this tragic accident?argoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01833563009474171308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6844475919675784308.post-80464718518502757652010-02-07T15:01:13.873-05:002010-02-07T15:01:13.873-05:00I live about two miles from the plant, off of Bow ...I live about two miles from the plant, off of Bow Lane. My house shook, and my initial thought was that my front porch had finally broken away from the house from the weight of the wood pellets I keep out there. I realize now that sounds ridiculous. We received a phone call from Chester asking if we had heard anything about an earthquake in the area.
I will say this - the response from the Fire Department, Police and Rescue Services was extremely quick.Richard B. Was state and federal safety standards overlooked?
